FOUNDER / CEO
Mirjam was born in Amsterdam where she studied at the Scapino Dance Academy. She completed her dance teacher training at the Rotterdam dance academy in 1984. After 35 years of teaching experience she came into contact with Yoga. She followed her Yoga teacher training at Yoga Garden and The New Yoga School in Amsterdam. At Debbie Jenner she obtained her diploma Pilates Instructor. Now she is studying Shiatsu therapy and Chinese medical medicine.
Mirjam is the founder of Organic Yoga Greece. Together with her partner it is her intention to support the locals. The refugee camp is on the eastern side of the island. Yet many tourists stay away. We try to support Skala Kalloni with our guests.
Our adopted dog Lou Lou.
We found her in 2018 in the bushes near the village of Skala Kalloni. Now she is safe with us and our other refugee dog Sir Taki.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT/WEBSITE INSTRUCTOR, COOK
Ilan de Vries
Ilan is Mirjam's partner. He is an IT specialist with his own IT company, PC Diemen. If someone has a computer problem, he solves it.
Ilan can be very entertaining. He could use some yoga but he prefers to stay with his computer.
Dates: July - August
Mirjam will be teaching Pilates or Vinyasa Yoga in the morning and Yin Yoga in the evening. Because of her background as a dance teacher she can work with all levels. If the group is mixed levels, she will adjust the class. A beginner can stop where we ask the advanced participant to do extra flows with more challenging poses.
We start every session with a meditation. We finish with 10 minutes stretching and relaxing.
I never was very flexible by nature. So to become more flexible I know it will take time and patience. We will never go flat on the belly but .... but work with our possibility's. So beginners, don't be afraid to start.
If you are advanced, we are not going into headstands. For me Yoga is not about acrobatics. If you want to train your balance, there are many ways in yoga to do so. There will be enough variety in the classes. The classes will have a focus and there's a progression.
Most important is, to enjoy and to feel good, its your holiday.

Her 3-year teacher training consisted of 700 hours of yoga practice and a well-founded study in anatomy and philosophy in the studio of the world-renowned teacher Clé Souren in Amsterdam. Since 2011 she has been teaching regularly in her studio in Frankfurt, Germany. Since then she has continued her own practice with excellent Iyengar yoga teachers worldwide (alphabetical order): Birjoo Mehta, Clé Souren, Delilah King, Doug Keller, Gulnaaz Dashti, Ingela Abbott, Katrin Feuerbach, Laurie Blakeney, Manouso Manos, Rembert Petrus, Richard Schachtel, Zubin Zarthoshtimanesh and many more gifted persons.

"Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life." (B.K.S. Iyengar)
Vinyasa Yoga. Giada is Italian but speaks fluent English. She has a dance background and is therefore able to move beautifully. An inspiring example for everyone.
After a retreat with us, she followed a teacher training course on the advice of Mirjam. Not necessarily because her body is suitable for yoga but her personality fits Yoga. She is a sweet woman with her heart in the right place. Moreover, she is completely herself and you immediately feel at ease with her. She is in for some madness in his time, so if there is a party, you will certainly find her on the dance floor.
Her training and flying hours she made in Milan. Ze is gecertificeerd Vinyasa Yoga docent.
WE ARE CREATIVE
Not two weeks are the same. One participant wants to take a diving lesson, the other a walking trip or do crafts with beach finds, anything is possible.
WE ARE PASSIONATE
Our greatest passion is to give our participants a great time, a warm bath.
WE ARE MAD
What is the earning model? There is no such thing. We are a Non Profit organization. All income goes in the first place to the teachers and in the second place to the stray dogs.
